The Fringe

Last night a friend of mine and I went to this huge festival in Edinburgh called The Fringe. It pretty much lasts all summer and spread out all over the city and was so much fun! Apparently (though I didn't see anyone doing this) you are supposed to dye your fringe (translation:bangs) pink, but I'm glad we didn't since I'm fairly certain that we would have been the only ones! This festival is huge, like I said, it's spread throughout the city so different bars and venues have different shows all the time, the program was huge, and a bit daunting, so we mostly just wandered around until we found something to do. First we saw a comedy show, the MC was an American girl from LA, so I could definitely relate to her jokes about how people back in the states make fun of her for using UK phrases. Then we meandered about some more, had some really good pizza, and went on a haunted Edinburgh tour till pretty late, but it was really fun! Learning some of the old history of the city is really interesting and this particular tour group has exclusive access to a part of the cemetery so we were able to see that as well. I think I"m still a tad jet lagged, not that I'm tired, more like I can't fall asleep until the wee hours of the morning, but I'm sure calving will quickly tire me out! I leave bright and early tomorrow so today I'm finishing up packing and possibly baking cupcakes, since the farmer has mentioned numerous times that they like chocolate cake I think its moved past a joke onto and actual request! Hopefully I'll have interwebs to be able to blog whilst I'm there!
