BSAVA Congress

This past weekend was the BSAVA Congress in Birmingham, so I got to explore another UK city (and pick up another airport!). It was so much fun! 4 days straight of lectures from 8:30-6:30, but I learned a lot. It was reassuring that we could keep up with all of lectures, and even knew a lot of stuff that actual practicing vets didn't (since they are doing significant less pathology as we are at the moment). My flatmate and I also did 2 extra sessions that you paid extra for, but they were really interesting and we learned a lot! 1 was for oncology and what to do when you have an incomplete margin, and the other was a really cool haematology course where we basically had 3 hours, a scope, and a bunch of slides and cases and were able to just go to town and ask some questions. Basically it was exactly like our exam is going to be so that was really helpful plus we got a bunch of supplemental material so that is going to be really helpful. Its probably a good thing that we've already chosen our 5th year selectives, because after this there are so many more things that are interesting, but I guess that usually happens when I go to something like this! Now I have a bag full of free swag from the congress and its back to studying, oh the joys!
