Last night shift!

Last night was my last night shift! It was pretty uneventful, an emergency came in that was collapsed, and it was really weird because it was basically brain dead but still had a heart beat and was breathing but had no pupil reflexes and looked pretty poorly. Eventually it almost stopped breathing so we were ventilating it and we couldn't really figure out what was wrong with it, so we ended up having to euthanize. A dog came in that the police found wandering around the streets and the owner ended up coming in a claiming him! So that was great. It was a pretty slow night, and I found out that one of the vets was one of my professors wife! Small world! But I'm done now with that shift so yay! Today we went shopping in Edinburgh and got some waterproofs and stuff to wear during my future EMS placements. Then we went downtown and I got some more stuff, and I think FINALLY I'm more or less sorted for my upcoming placements. I'm REALLY excited for these ones coming up, and its made this last week really drag, but only one more week! Then we went to a new pub called Drygate and it was great, it was so nice to see everyone I havent seen in a bit and sort of in the calm before the storm and we're all over the place again before school starts. Crazy that the summer is flying by, I can't believe the time already! So I have next week off to get my life sorted out. Then I have 2 weeks in Orkney, then 2 weeks in Ayr, then 2 weeks in Yorkshire all with large animal, then I'm home and doing 2 weeks locally where I can commute in and out of the practice. Then I have a few days, then we go to Iceland and then school starts! Its going to we a whirlwind, but I'm really excited!
