Lets Do the Tine Warp Again!

So yesterday was a pretty fun day, we got done fairly early and I spent the rest of the day revising renal phys before a group of us went to see Rocky Horror?'x the the picture show but the play! It was really fun, and since 2 of the guys we were with were rocky people kept coming up to us and taking pictures with them, it was pretty ridiculous but loads of fun. The narrator was very quick witted and we all had a great time. The perfect stress relief prior to exams!

Only 2 weeks left!

Its crazy to think that I only have 2 weeks left of classes of 2nd year! Then I'm done with all the anatomy, phys, ect that I will ever learn! Crazy. We're starting exotics, which is basically basic knowledge to keep us from being embarrassed on day 1, which seems to be a lot of vet med, just don't embarrass yourself. Now on to more studying, since I actually do have an exam before break starts, yay.

There's The Kidney!

So today was a pretty great day I must say. It was sunny (cold, but sunny) I got a lie in, and it was pretty light in terms of workload. I started the day by getting to sleep in, had a nice slow breakfast and did some studying before reviewing. Then on my walk to school I saw one of my favourite professors! Or rather he saw me, and we had a delightful conversation on the way to school, so great! Then we had some class, histo lab, and then did ultrasound practice, which was actually really fun. For once I actually understood what I was looking at! Then I stayed for clinical club, we talked about adequate ventilation of cow housing, doesn't sound too thrilling but it was helpful, especially for exams in May. Then we all got free pizza, and I've been cleaning the rest of the evening, and going to do a bit more review before bed!

Passed!

Not that it counts, but I passed all my mock OSCEs, which is nice to know that I can at least do some stuff correctly so that was nice, even though I had to clinical exam a sheep, but she was quite agreeable! I also got an email that I get to work with donkeys this summer in Spain! So that will be exciting, now just to book everything!

Mock OSCEs Tomorrow

Long day today with lots of waiting around, but got some studying done so not a complete bust. Today we had our last even dissection, which is weird to think that we wont dissect anything again and that we're almost done with classes! Crazy! Tomorrow are most OSCEs, slightly stressful, but they aren't real, just to see where we are so I'm not too concerned, just don't want to look like a complete tard, but there you go.

Weekend of Dreams

Its that time of year again where we all get gussied up and look presentable to the world! This past weekend was Vet Ball, and it was quite a fun weekend! Fri night we went to a midnight showing of psycho that was playing at the Grosvenor, so that was fun, and hung out a bit beforehand at the bookclub. Then Sat was vet ball. It was really fun and the 4th years did a really great job putting it all together, we were all quite impressed! Sun was pretty chill and then we went to a concert Sun night, Example, who I wasn't too keen on seeing, but it was actually a really great show! May have to add some of his music to my running playlist! Today we had a fairly light day, then went to Core Conditioning and have been studying and practicing suturing for mock OSCEs on Wed so I dont look like a complete boob!

yesterday we learned how to float horse teeth, which is basically filing them down so they have the correct edges on them for proper eating. it was surprisingly fun, and another skill i can add to my vet tool box for EMS this summer. tonight is vet ball so that should be fun!
